Very similar to another Shayla Black, His to Take – #9 in the series, such that sometimes I thought - have I read this before? but that didn't matter too much. The reading by Christian Fox suits the material incredibly. ( )

Good story, some a little unbelievable but not so far fetched you'd throw your hands up in the air in frustration.

Lily aka Misty aka Sweet Pea has been living in secret for years, running from a tragic past and a violent man. Stone is a convict who's been offered a deal....get Lily to testify and we make your conviction go away.

Yea you know where this is headed. He falls for her and helps her heal. She learns to trust and on her own agrees to testify (but she still doesn't know that's his mission when she agrees to do it). But before we get there we have an attempt on her life, a note to let her know her past has caught up with her, and hiding out with Stone trying to figure out what to do next.

As usual, Stone decides it's too much of a risk to Lily and tells his Fed handler....deals off, forget it. In walks her 'protector' to spill the beans and muck things up without knowing what the hell is really going on. Lily runs, gets herself into a dire situation and Stone comes to the rescue. And the threat to her life was indeed someone from her past, just not whom she'd been afraid of.

Quick read, fairly entertaining but don't know if I want to go back and pick up the series from the beginning. ( )
