Oh, if only every manager and politician making decisions about security would read this book! We'd not only be safer, and save millions, but we could keep our shoes on. Schneier has -- like Barbara Tuchman, Stephen Jay Gould, or the late Carl Sagan -- the unique ability to take esoteric material and explain it to a general reader in such a way that it sparkles and gleams and comes alive. This is a rare gift. Believe me, I read enough non-fiction of this type to know just how rare it is. Schneier's own particular area of expertise is cryptography and computer security. SECRETS & LIES is an overview of security within a digital world, written not for the programmer but the general reader. This is wonderfully written, and bristles with ideas. It will make you think, and I recommend it highly. Go get it!
Schneier has successfully synthesized the essentials of security into a highly readable text. Anyone who truly wishes to understand security should start with Secrets & Lies. Contenida enEs una secuela (no-series) de
