Summary: It is about having good manners at a birthday party. It is written to the tune of "THe Muffin Man." They are silly rules about things you should not do at a birthday party. It involves cake, ice cream, pictures, presents, and candy. Personal Reaction: It was cute and entertaining. It is a lyrical poem. Cute illustrations. Children would enjoy it. Classroom Extension: Use it to teach manners. Have children sing it. Summary: This book is about the different manners that you should have. There is one about a little boy who picks other kids booger, and drinking from the water fountain. Each of these poems goes with a nursery rhymes. Personal Reaction: I really enjoyed this book it was funny and I think students would really enjoy it as well. I also like how each of the poems goes with a nursery rhyme which students would have fun singing along and it would make it fun for them. Classroom Extension: 1. I could use this book to teach poetry in a fun way. 2. It could also be used to hel students write their own poetry. This book is a collection of songs (adapted from classic tunes) all about having good manners. Each song addresses something different like how to drink at the drinking fountain, not to pick your nose, not chewing gum in class, and fighting with your siblings. The lyrics are very clever and funny. They use perfect rhyme and keep with the melody of the original song. The pictures are very funny; they look similar to a cartoon you would see on Cartoon Network or on the television. I think this book would be very useful to have in your classroom and perhaps to teach your students. I could see this book being used in pretty much any grade from Kindergarten up to 5th grade. Since the tunes are so catchy, I’m sure there is a CD that has all of the original songs or maybe even a CD to go along with this book that you could use with your class. It is important to remember that all children do not come to school knowing what kind of manners are appropriate, especially in school, this book of songs seems to really address many of the crucial etiquette norms! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
