"While out for a walk with her mom, a little girl has the surprise of her life -- she meets a real, live, fire-breathing dragon! Now this dragon is nothing to be afraid of -- in fact, he's so friendly that she invites him home for tea. But their afternoon snack is suddenly interrupted when the dragon sneezes and sets the table ablaze. Luckily, the girl knows just what to do, and she teaches her new friend to be fire smart, too. With its funny, rhyming verse and spunky illustrations, No Dragons for Tea shows kids that learning about fire safety doesn't have to be scary. The story ends with "The Dragon's Fire Safety Rhyme" -- a fun and easy way to remember what to do in case of fire. " -- Annapolis Valley Regional Library This is a book about a young child who runs into a dragon. They do all sorts of fun activities together, until the young child has to go home. So the dragon goes with and ends up accidentally starting a fire. I like this book because not only does it teach a great lesson, but it does it in a really fun way. I like how the author organized her thoughts and shared them with all the readers. This book could be read to any age of children because of the lesson that it teaches, but if a child were to read it his or herself, I think they should be between the ages 6-9. Because it is a longer and slightly challenging book. I gave this book 5 stars because it is a really great teaching tool and this illustrations are bright and colorful. I can remember having a fire plan in elementary school. I think you could use this not old to teach fire safety, but to teach about diversity and being nice to "people" no matter what they look like. A little girl is playing outside when she runs into a dragon. they become friends and play at the beach and eventually convince the girl's mother to let the dragon come over for tea. They sprinkle pepper and the dragon sneezes; fire catches on the curtains and they rush outside to a previously decided meeting spot. No Dragons For Tea is an educational book for teaching kids what to do in the event of a fire. The use of rhyming makes the book seem more flourished but not necessary and I found that Pendziwol had a great idea in writing this book. Kids will like the dragon and the fantasy aspect of inviting a dragon to play and grown-ups will love that their kids are learning while having fun. At the end of the book is a checklist of facts about fire and what to do in the event of one. In all, I vote this book a great learning tool but not the greatest literary experience. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
