"In an obsessive mystery as thrilling as The Girl on the Train and The Husband's Secret, the New York Times bestselling coauthor of the Nicholas Drummond series will make you question every twist in her page turning novel and wonder which of her vividly drawn characters you should trust. The day Aubrey Hamilton's husband is declared dead by the state of Tennessee should bring closure so she can move on with her life. But Aubrey doesn't want to move on. She just wants Josh back. It's been five years since he disappeared, since their blissfully happy marriage they were happy, weren't they? screeched to a halt and Aubrey became the prime suspect in his disappearance. Five years of emptiness, solitude, loneliness, questions. Why didn't Josh show up at his friend's bachelor party? Who anonymously sent Aubrey her favorite cocktail at the bar where Josh stood her up? Was he murdered? Did he run away? And now, all this time later, who is the mysterious and strangely familiar figure suddenly haunting her new life? As her heroine faces the possibility that everything she thinks she knows about herself, her marriage, and her husband is a lie, New York Times bestselling author J.T. Ellison expertly peels back the layers of a complex woman who is hiding dark secrets beneath her unassuming exterior. In a masterful thriller for readers who love Gillian Flynn, Liane Moriarty, and Paula Hawkins, Ellison pulls you into a you'll never-guess merry-go-round of danger and deception. Round and round and round it goes, where it stops no one knows"-- "In the vein of The Girl on the Train and The Husband's Secret comes a you'll-never-guess thriller from the co-author of the Nicholas Drummond series with #1 New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter, about a woman who must figure out if she's losing her mind, or if her husband has really returned from the dead"--… (más)

Would have been 4.5-5 stars with a more realistic ending. I love a complicated suspense story with twists and turns, but I like to either (1) figure it out on my own or (2) say "dang, I missed that clue." Nobody, but nobody, would see this coming. Disappointed. ( )

Holy cow! I got this book on a whim from the Book of the Month Club and I am so glad I did. Rather than read a bunch of reviews, which had some minor spoilers, I went in completely cold and was glad I did.
This is such a fun book with twists and turns and then more twists and turns, but not illogical ones. Each turn made sense and the story flowed. I couldn't put it down and it was good through to the last sentence.
I have been recommending to my friends that they read this because they won't be sorry. Seriously, don't read reviews, just know it is good.

I wanted to find out if the husband was really dead at the beginning of the book. Don't read ahead! Daisy needed to be developed more. ( )

A twisty psychological thriller with lots of surprises. Audrey’s husband Josh disappeared five years ago the night of a party. Now he’s finally being declared officially dead and the news is affecting Audrey and her mother in law in different ways. But what really happened to Josh five years ago and is it possible he could still be alive?

It’s going to be difficult to review this one without giving away spoilers and plot twists, so I’m not going to say too much except to say this was REALLY good with tons of characters, complex plotting and lots of twists. And I loved the way I never knew which narrators I could trust!

Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader.
