A female Himalayan kitty turns up outside Beatrice's cafe, and Beatrice cleans her up. She, the cat she, quickly causes the two resident male kitties to get all goofy.

Meanwhile the mayor goes and dies on everyone. Everyone is sad. Especially the mayor's wife, Nancy, who is the head of the 'yoga group' who like to stop of at Beatrice's place. Though Nancy seems more upset over the cause of the mayor's death. Gun shot. And how Bernie Sullivan might not actually be his name.

So, Beatrice and her crime fighting cats are on the case. As is the sheriff. And the FBI. The deputy sheriff just kind of sits around doing nothing, as normal.

A nice enough little story, all told. Though much more of a slice-of-life type of story than a mystery. I mean, there’s a mystery, but . . . not a very strong mystery. Detection involved driving around. Next thing I want to say is in the spoiler territory so I won’t say it. ( )
