I'm a mature adult and I enjoyed it; but my 4.5 year old nephew also enjoyed having it read to him. The text is split up into a narrative that describes a landing on Mars, simple projects to do to learn or think about Mars, and denser, more descriptive text. The illustrations are arranged interestingly; some are small and some span two pages. The illustrations of the future astronauts show young persons of both sexes and various ethnicities.
