It combines two of my favourite things - reading and ducks! On these pages are beautiful illustrations and embossing which only adds charm to a cute little story of a duckling who gets lost and hatches alone after his egg rolls away from his family. He comes across many animals who lead him in the right direction, except for the mean old rooster. Soon enough the duckling finds his brothers and sisters and his mommy! Be sure to be kind to people and animals especially to those who need help! Little Duck hatches on a "grassy green riverbank" where the "bees hummed and wind whispered lazily." All alone, he sets out to find his true home. Along the way he meets a sleepy frog, wild river ducklings, a kind deer, a rabbit, a chick, and a rooster. No one can tell him the way home. Just when all seems lost, a farm dog shows him the way to the farm pond. "The water looked calm and warm and inviting. With a dash and a splash, Little Duck plopped joyfully into the pond" along with the other little ducklings. He was home at last. The story is wonderfully told and the colored pencil illustrations are awesome.(The pages are about the thickness of a file folder, making this a durable title, perfect for classroom use.) I would read this book to preschool and kindergarten. It is done in colored pencil and has great soft, illustrations. The book talks about a little duck who is lost from his pond. He comes across many different kinds of animals but no one can tell him how to get home. A dog finally shows the duck to his pond and he is reunited with the other ducklings. This would be a good book just to read for fun. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
