Claire is the new librarian in Knights Bridge. She's widowed with a son. Her husband died in a car crash, and she's overly cautious now. Logan, a busy Boston ER doctor, helps get his grandmother settled in an assisted living facility. Townspeople think he has not spent enough time with his grandmother and question whether it was her decision to move into the facility. The two meet when she delivers books for residents to the facility. They strike up a friendship that quickly becomes something more. There were places where the narrative seemed repetitive--especially when hearing thoughts. I enjoyed the overall story, but tighter editing could make it stronger. I listened to the audio book read by Susan Boyle (which I assume to be the Britain's Got Talent winner). She did a great job. ( )

A Knight's Bridge Christmas had some good points. It also had some not so good ones. I did not look at this as a love story. It was more a look at the phases of life and the wisdom gained from living it.

Good

1. The concept of the story was thought provoking and heartwarming.

2. Life passes quickly, don't let it pass you by.- Smart to take two characters one starting over and one needing to slow down and bringing them together in a small town. Add in the changes they contend with and Logan's grandmothers transitions and wisdom. Interesting contrast.

Bad

1. Slow moving.- Many times throughout the story it stalled and struggled to get back on track.

2. Too much in depth info.- Over explaining characters and situations made the story too long and stagnate.

Disclosure- I received an ARC of A Knight's Bridge Christmas by Carla Neggers in exchange for an honest review. ( )

"A Knights Bridge Christmas" by Carla Neggers

My Thoughts....

If you like a sweet Christmas love story then this novel is for you. I liked how this author
was able to bring these two people together...Logan and Claire. Claire was a widow and new Librarian with a son Owen who had come to live in Knights Bridge. How will this all come about? Claire also did a program with the seniors at the retirement home....therefore meeting Daisy. Logan was a ER doctor who was from Boston had come to Knights Bridge, Massachusetts to help his grandmother [Daisy]get settled in the local assisted living facility and also get her home ready to sell. However, Daisy wanted her home decorated for the holidays one last time from putting her home up the for sale sign. Needing help with this decorating job ....Logan gets Claire's help and this sweet story will take off from here. Was Daisy up to some matchmaking needing Claire to help Logan with the decorating of her home? To find out you will have to pick up the good read to see how well this author will bring it out to the readers. I felt it was a sweet holiday story of how two people being brought together during this season in the quaint town. Would I recommend? YES!

I received a copy through NOR in exchange for an honest review. ( )

Another in Neggers's series of contemporary romances set in the small town of Knights Bridge, Massachusetts. Sweet and a bit slight, with appealing characters. Clare Morgan is a young widow, who moves to Knights Bridge with her six-year-old son, Owen, to be director of the town library. Logan Farrell is a hot-shot ER doctor from Boston with roots in Knights Bridge. He arrives a bit before Christmas to oversee his grandmother's move to the local assisted living facility. Daisy Farrell makes him promise to decorate her house; he enlists Clare's help. Things develop naturally from there.

A sweet, non-sexy romance. ( )
