The message of this story is simple and sweet, a grandparents love is unlike any other. The relationship both children have with their grandparents is very heartwarming. It's a relationship that every child should have. In the book, the grandparents don't tell the children that they are doing something wrong, but guide the children in helping them explore the world around them. ( )

A brother and sister spend some time on the farm with their grandparents in this follow up to author Andrew Clements and illustrator R.W. Alley's Because Your Daddy Loves You and Because Your Mommy Loves You. As they makes mistakes, and misjudge new situations, their grandmother and grandfather continually step in to help, offering solutions rather than criticism. At the end of an active day, as the two youngsters slip off to sleep, they are assured of their grandparents' love for them...

Like its predecessors, Because Your Grandparents Love You pairs a reassuring story, one in which youngsters are offered a supportive environment and lots of encouragement by their elders, with cute artwork. After finding Because Your Daddy Loves You just a little bit too treacly for my taste, I was surprised to discover that this one didn't strike me in quite the same way. Perhaps because the children are in a new and unfamiliar environment, I found the adult patience displayed here more realistic than in the earlier book. However that may be, this is a fairly sweet little tale, one I would recommend to anyone looking for stories about children and their grandparents. ( )

This book is about siblings that stay at their parents house. The siblings keep making mistakes but grandma and grandpa never lose the patience with them. They always help them by showing them the correct way.

I liked this book for 2 reasons. First, I thought that the language and vocabulary was very appropriate for this book. The writing was very descriptive, but is attainable for young children. The thoughts were very clear and the story was noticeably fluent. For example, each page talked about a problem or difficulty the grandchildren faced when helping their grandparents on the farm that day. The granddaughter was trying to feed the horse; he came up to her and stared at her without moving. She wasn’t sure what to do and her grandfather came over to show her how to properly feed the horse a carrot.
Another reason why I liked this book is that is what told in third person. I feel that when describing all of the events that happened during their time on their grandparent’s farm, it would be easier for the reader to grasp the story if it was in third person. A reader could imagine themselves in the grandchildren’s position and could make a connection with their own grandparents.
The big idea coming from this story is understanding how much grandparents and family care about you. They will use their knowledge to teach you new things growing up that you will remember forever and carry them with you. ( )
