It was so cute to see all the kids' imaginings drawn in crayon - Ally has a tail and claws, the other kids at school have crowns and space helmets and manes! Walter was my favourite though. I hope his library has books about lunchboxes. ( ) Summary- This book was about a girl who loved dinosaurs and wanted to go by her name ally plus saurus. As she met the new kids in her class on her first day of school and she found out what they liked, she started picturing them with their favorite things and making up new names for them. Ally-Saurus soon met a group of kids that she fit in with and they all played and had fun together. Genre- This book would be realistic fiction even though the coloring in the book makes it like the kids are animals or fantasy type characters. Age- K-2 Media- oil base pencils, watercolor, and digital media. Summary This book is about a little girl who thinks she is a dinosaur on her way to the first day of school. This book illustrates the many differences of children and how they all learn from one another and have fun in a school setting. Personal reflection This book was real cute, I liked it because it helped the children see that children like different things and they all can come together with their imaginations and play together. Extensions 1. Have the kids illustrate with a drawing about their first day of school. 2. The children will prepare a story of who they make believe they are. 3. Have a day that the kids act out who they believe they are in small groups. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

When Ally roars off to her first day at school, she hopes she'll meet lots of other dinosaur-mad kids in class. Instead, she's the only one chomping her food with fierce dino teeth and drawing dinosaurs on her nameplate. Even worse, a group of would-be "princesses" snubs her! Will Ally ever make new friends? With its humorous art, appealing heroine, and surprise ending, this fun picture book celebrates children's boundless imagination -- No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
