This is a collection of funny poems about school. There are a number of funny poems written by well known authors such as Shel Silverstein and Jack Prelutsky. This lighthearted poetry collection explores silly situations like a principal with toilet paper on his shoe or a teacher with hiccups. Great for a beginning of the year introduction or an intro to a poetry unit. ( )

No More Homework, No More Tests! serves as a comedic relief for the day-to-day realities of school. The poems in this book give children a voice, a way to "goof-off," and a way to make school fun and cool. Overall, the relatable material in this poetic picture book serve as a positive and exciting read for elementary students! ( )

Summary: This book is a collection of poems about how kids may feel about school. From beginning to end it is filled many humorous poems about anything and everything having to do with school, from waking up to taking a test.
Personal reaction: The poems were funny and not too long. They are written so well you would think a child wrote them because you begin to remember how you once felt that way no matter how long ago you were in school. The inside of the book is all in black and white which I liked because it didn't distract from the poems.
Classroom Extension Ideas: This book would be a great introduction to a poetry lesson, the students can also take turns reading aloud because the poems are funny and not too long. This could also be used with a "feelings" lesson so that the students can learn how to express their feelings in a positive way. ( )
