The characters were fine, if not all that interesting and the plot was okay. The world building was pretty thin - I kept thinking I missed another book/series/intro - that explained the world but no it seems like the author has just decided to ignore the whys and hows. I mean who is Adam? How did John save his life? The backstory is all hinted at - which would be fine if there's another novel that explains it but there doesn't seem to be one. Plus it didn't really make sense a government agent would be okay involving the Canadian mob. Maybe if he didn't seem to be such a bureaucrat and was carrying his own gun for instance it would seem more likely. 1.5 stars. It definitely has me interested in the series, but.... It needed more intensity and there were several areas where that could have happened. I know 95 pages is short, but I have read shorter that had me more connected to the main characters and the world they live in. Bottom line⤵ I liked it but didn't love it and feel the author could have done a better job. I will be continuing to the next book in the series before I make a final decision about the series. I would just like to read a romantic scene where the clothes rapidly being removed are not described as "offensive" or "offending." Or, y'know, if they must be described thus, maybe offer a little backstory? Like, the bra is an "offending scrap of material" 'cuz it's itchy? I would like to say that if the clothes had gotten a little backstory, this would've been more enjoyable...but I doubt it. I probably would've just wished that I was reading the nonsensical adventures of an itchy bra instead of the highly dramatic escapades of John and Cree. Which I mostly skimmed. Way to short but gives us a glimpse of the private side of John Loughlin, the Director of the Department of Covert Ops who we’ve met in the previous two books. Loved his mate - Cree Forest is like all the other women in this series – kick ass. Hope to see more of her and John together in future books. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Just as John has been watching her, Cree has been spying on him. Now John is getting too close-both professionally and personally. On opposite sides of a lethal game, can they trust each other with their hearts? No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Romance between a fox shifter and her potential boss. Leaves a lot of questions which is what a novella like this is supposed to do.
Re-reading didn't improve the read. ( )
