Just friends. We're just friends. No, really. She's just my best friend...Arizona Turner has been my best friend since fourth grade, even when we "hated" each other. We've been there for one another through first kisses, first "times," and we've been each other's constant when good relationships turned bad. (We even went to colleges that were minutes away from each other...) Throughout the years, and despite what anyone says, we've never crossed the line. Never thought about it. Never wanted to. Until one night changed everything. At least, it should've... Just friends. We're just friends. I'm only saying this until I figure out if she's still "just" my best friend...… (más)

I might have a serious case of the feels for Carter...
Audiobook provided via IndieSage PR in exchange for an honest review.

"Some people come into your life for a reason, some a season, and some for a lifetime.”

Carter and Arizona hated each other in the fourth grade, but one day they decided to be best friends. It might have been in the fourth grade, or maybe the fifth, but it's the kind of friendship that lasts a lifetime. They wrote each other letters, they competed at all of life's important "firsts," and turned to one another whenever they needed a shoulder to lean on. On the cusp of adulthood and making the choices that will plot their future, they discover in just one night that their friendship may have more to it; there may be a reason why Arizona can't sleep with just anyone and why Carter can't make it past the 6 month mark. They're just friends. Or are they?

Once again, a friends to lovers story has sucked me in. With alternating POVs and letters dating back to the fourth grade, Whitney G introduces us to two friends that have always been just that, friends. Carter and Arizona are the perfect kind of best friends I like to read about; they're distinctly different, they have experiences that shaped them, there are one thousand reasons they shouldn't be together, and yet their chemistry is always an underlying factor they've both grown so used to ignoring. We follow the two's friendship as they wade the murky waters of being an adult and revisit their experiences together from 4th grade to the end of college. While their both leading their own lives and striving toward huge goals, they come back together to share their old rituals and support one another. I loved how the characters dealt with their friendship and the conflict that arose after they shared one night. While it brought angst and heartbreak to such a fun book, it really took it to the next level for me. Whitney G. did such an amazing job of really building up the characters friendship before introducing sex and feelings, there was communication and such a strong connection between the two.

My favorite scenes are those when Arizona and Carter shared dialogue with friends around them and seeing how everyone else perceived them to be. While everyone is making comments, the two best friends are sharing secret looks and touches, showing the reader just how important their friendship really is before anything else. Through letters, texts, and private moments the reader gets to see just how much their really is to their friendship. And when they finally give in to the feelings, wow do sparks fly. Arizona is an incredibly strong heroine, independent and determined, while Carter is one hot, dirty talking character that had me swooning following every sign off of "sincerely, Carter." Their friendship and relationship was so believable that I am surprised it's not two of my own best friends.

You’re more than ‘just’ my best friend, and I never want to be ‘just friends’ again."

Sincerely, Carter was one funny, realistic, and heartwarming book that I could read again and again. While I listened to the audiobook, I can say I would recommend it in any format. Whitney G. has an incredible way with words and making the plot just come to life. If you are looking for a romance that has got it all, Sincerely, Carter is it for you.

Audiobook rating: 4 Stars
I really enjoyed that there was a female narrator and a male narrator for the respective Arizona and Carter scenes, however I wasn't entirely impressed with all of the narration. Jennifer O'Donnell did such a great job of being Arizona and imitating the voices of other females and males, including Carter. I wasn't in love with Joseph Discher's voice and I don't feel he hit the bill perfectly. I did however, find myself laughing a lot, repeating scenes, and really getting into the banter between Arizona and Carter. ( )

So fun to read!

I loved these characters and their friends. Such a great story that I wish I could read it again for the first time. Try it listening to Ludivico Enauldi.

Sincerely Carter brought back memories of college. My college experience was nothing like Arizona's, but I appreciated the funny references to everyday college life. Carter and Arizona are friends who have known one another since they were kids. Their history is sprinkled throughout the story and done so in an entertaining way. Carter and Arizona (or "Ari") were cute as kids, giving one another grief. Then as they stayed close friends after high school (when the main story takes place), they still had their humor and banter.
I enjoyed all the characters and Josh was hilarious.
I became annoyed with one of Ari's so-called friends, but I'm glad it worked out for the best.
I wouldn't change anything about this story. I thoroughly enjoyed the humor, sensuality, and young-adult angst. Readers who like an intense love story with humor and entertaining banter will appreciate Sincerely, Carter.

I can sincerely say that this book was wonderful. I enjoy a good best friends to lovers book. I've actually only read a few that made the cut. Sincerely, Carter was one of them.

Right off the bat, I loved both Arizona and Carter. The were both wonderfully developed characters. Their friendship and chemistry were so well written. Normally, I get bored with books that contain a lot of past stories. But that was not the case with Sincerely, Carter. Carter goes back and shares pivotal moments throughout his and Arizona's life starting in fourth grade when they went from hating each other to becoming best friends.

Overall, the plot was well developed, and I could not stop listening to this audio. The performance of the narrators was strong, considering Jennifer O'Donnell had me in tears during a particular heartbreak scene. It's been a while since I allowed an audiobook to really consume me. But I released that Sincerely, Carter was going to do that about an hour in when I couldn't stop thinking about the story. ( )

You are literally the BEST BFF a girl could ever ask for…

Thank you for the endless Starbucks meet-ups and conversations that led to the creation of this book!

(And yes…I’m gratefully aware that the ‘Sincerely, Carter’ title was your idea…)
