A slam-bang, two-fisted, balls-to-the-wall action comic — The Fast and the Furious with all the cars and tanks but now with added time travel! (Actually, I haven't seen the last one. Is F&F doing time travel now?) The energy almost won me over, but the fast and loose play with time travel logic and the jackass personalities of the leads simultaneously pushed me away. The sequel is just sitting right there on Hoopla though, so I’m probably going to read it. Following a trend to throw together a simple concept into graphic novel form with the apparent goal of selling the idea to a film studio (story boards are already halfway there!), Chrononauts is a good 15 minute read. Not an original idea in sight - but frequently well-illustrated by one of my favorite current comic artists, Sean Murphy. Even then, however, it harkened back to Joe the Barbarian (which released 5 years earlier) rather than forging into new territory. Would work as a quality animated short - but not as an original comic, or the film it may aspire to. Comic book collection about time travel At first Corbin Quinn builds a satellite which could go back in time and film events in the past then he develops the chrono-suit to travel into the past with his colleague, Danny Reilly. What a surprise when it all goes pear-shape from the start and they end up in a highly-technological Samarkand in 1504! All sorts of mayhem then ensues as the authorities try to rein them in and bring them back. A lot of fun, this is engaging, exciting and well-illustrated. Recommended to all. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Sean Murphy (and Hollingsworth) with his usual stunning work keeps this from the trash bin. ( )
