Almost immediately forgettable but an easy way to kill a couple hours.

This is a cheap and easy fix of fluff urban fantasy. Basic plot: abused street kid believes in Magic and discovers, eventually, that magic really does gosh darn gee exist, and he will find a way to make it to Fairyland or else.

There are a few other interweaving story lines and characters which are, unsurprisingly, faintly more interesting than the protagonist and primary plot, but Reaves seems to add characters with a "the more, the merrier" mindset, frequently missing the point of character development entirely.

It isn't an actively bad book, but it is entirely unexceptional. ( )
