The third of Michael Meyer's six-volume translation of Ibsen moves toward some of his more hypnotic and unusual works, with neat translations that prove why Meyer was the most prominent Ibsen translator of the 20th century. Whether someone in the 21st century will eclipse him is yet to be seen, but his intelligent dealing of the characters - particularly with Ibsen's often overt character deconstructions - is well worth reading.
