Matt Holloway, the story's narrator, wants to save people, and his best friend, John Costello, is a stoic few-words character. The two best friends have an intense back story that isn't revealed until a few chapters into the tale and it certainly adds to the tension. The boat excursion takes place after the two male friends meet up with three new friends. The situation and characters all seems so realistic. You will like them in spite of their flaws and you can't help rooting for them. Can't say too much more about this struggle for self-preservation story without being a spoiler. Don't miss this one. I'm glad that I didn't pass it over. Highly recommended. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Young Adult Fiction.
HTML: From critically acclaimed author Paul Griffin comes a fast-paced young adult novel about four very different teens lost at sea with no one to count on but themselves. Matt and Mike are best friends, just two working-class guys trying to earn some money in Montauk for the summer. When they meet Driana, JoJo, and Stef, three friends who live a much different life of privilege, Matt and Mike find themselves in a sticky situation where temptation rivals sensibility. Worlds collide when the group ventures out to sea aboard a small boat that Stef sneaks out from her dad's dock. As the waves rise and the fragile vessel weakens, things go horribly wrong. Adrift at sea for days, who will have what it takes to survive? .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

The characters are a little flat (and John's motivations are never exactly clear, nor what exactly makes Dri so great), but the breakdown of "civilized" behavior in times of stress is well-portrayed, and the ending is refreshing in that things don't get tied up perfectly. ( )
