Edward isn't ready to swim without his water wings. Edward Bear is all excited to go to Georgina's birthday. It's a pool party, and Edward wants to wear his water wings. But Edward is the only one wearing wings and some guests tease him about it. Edward isn't quite ready for this kind of party. As we know, some of us need our water wings a bit longer than others. It's fine to swim in water wings as long as you feel safe. This story in the Edward Almost Ready series is recommended for children ages two through six.

Edward is invited to Georgiana's birthday party. It is a swimming party so Edward decides to take his "water wings." While at the birthday party his friends give him a big hug and Edward slipped out of his "water wings." He then slips into pool and the life guard has to save him. The life guard calls Edwards parents and tells them that Edward may not be ready to go to swimming parties. This book is a good book to read to a child that may be struggling with something that is okay to struggle with. Edward can be looked at as encouragement for the child. This book could also be used to teach the students about pool safety. The following website can be used for teaching kids about school safety.
