Grant does an amazing job at capturing the reader's attention with part one of Night's Blaze. This part introduces not only the two main characters but also the secondary characters that are a part of the story. Grant uses this first part to give the reader a history of both Rhys and Lily as well as introduce their connection to each other. This part does a great job at getting the reader engaged in the book's main plot and invested in the two main characters. It also introduces the bad guys as well making the reader want to continue to see what happens next. Overall Night's Blaze Part One was a great introduction to the story, and I am looking forward to moving onto part two.

The Story

So book 5 may not have been the best place to jump back into this series. A lot is going on. It seems like a books long conflict is about to come to a head. Fortunately for me I really don’t care about it. It’s rather like the beginning of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books when there was a lot about Mr. X or whatever and Omega’s plans. Snooze fest for me. However, I’m loving the tension between Rhys and Lily. Sure most of it is all in Rhys’ head but when he finds out about Dennis I’m expecting a spectacular show of protectiveness and dominance. I’m quite giddy about it.
