This makes sense for kids and can assist in teaching the different phases. The cool part about this book is that the students can take what they learned from it, and see what they can see at home (if it is a clear night). Good for probably 2-5th grade.
You could teach this book during a unit on outer space. Students could do experiments where they have to predict what the next cycle of the moon will look like or create models of the moon's different phases. Students could have to present on what a different phase of the moon looks like and teach it to each other. ( )
