( ) This book about the body because it was Dr.Seuss, I expected the book to be senseless but as reading, I found that the book discussed ideas and concepts of the human body such as brain and bone functions thoroughly. It goes over the brain, skeleton, spine, ears, eyes, muscles, heart, blood, lungs, digestive system, bladder etc. The illustrations also provide labeled diagrams and make concepts kid friendly and informative without cluttering with facts like many textbooks. This book although is set up in such a format as a textbook with a glossy and an index to the book. WRITING ASSIGNMENT: I would ask students to write about one body part or concept that they found interesting from the text. The Cat in the Hat non-fiction novel discusses the human body from your brain to your tibia. It starts by going through the brain, down to the bones discussing each separate bone, to your senses, and your organs. This book has an extensive amount of valuable information that is very important to teach students during health and PE classes. Due to the depth that this book covers I most likely would use this book in a 3rd or 4th grade classroom, and maybe not discuss every portion of the book, but only the portions that meet the standards for that grade level. Especially i wouldn't want to overload the students with information that they do not completely understand yet. I think this would be a great tool in a classroom because there are many fun activities you can do when learning about your body and your health! Another great and exciting thing about this book is the glossary it has a full section dedicated to vocabulary. Overall, I would say this is a very important book to have in your classroom because it is not an written like a chapter book that an adult would read to learn about the human body, but instead written so that children can understand the meaning of each organ, and bone in the body. I love anything that is written Dr. Seuss style. This book includes body parts and how and why they function. The illustrations are great and good for opening discussion. The fact that the book rhymes will enthrall the youngest of readers. I recommend this book to young readers, those that can't read even, will enjoy this book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
