Read this about ten years ago. Nice light read, but I've outgrown it ( )

From the fun cover, you know instantly this is lightweight stuff here - a relationship or romance novel meant to be read poolside - which is exactly what I did. I didn't hate the book, but I hated the characters. I couldn't stand the side characters, and couldn't relate to the main character either. Who goes on vacation for months at a time - with little money and no plan? How exactly did they think it was going to go? When you go on a group vacation, there's going to be some give and take - if you don't want to do what others in the group want to do - THEN GO ALONE. I couldn't feel sorry for her. I kept at it until the end - this was a quick read, and I could appreciate the setting of the book - since I was laying in the sun, after all. I won't even say I wouldn't read others by this author, though, since I did enjoy the tidbits about the culture. ( )
