But this last book was definitely my least favorite. I didn’t love Victoria from the first book. I thought she was horribly manipulative, overrated, and overbearing. But she was nothing compared to Shelley. Shelley was a true terror. Aside from Shelley, the so called love story didn’t make much sense or really draw me in. I wasn’t feeling the love. ( ) ARC REVIEW: EVER AFTER (NANTUCKET BRIDES TRILOGY #3) BY JUDE DEVERAUX REVIEW: EVER AFTER (NANTUCKET BRIDES TRILOGY #3) BY JUDE DEVERAUX Release Date: June 23, 2015 My Review Ever After (Nantucket Brides Trilogy, #3) by Jude DeverauxMy rating: 5 of 5 stars Jude Deveraux has always been one of my favorite authors to read. Have been reading her since I was sixteen. Her ability to convey strong emotion within her stories whether they be historical or contemporary is mind boggling to me. Ms. Deveraux has a way of stealing the heart right out of your chest with her descriptive and intriguing stories. Ever After is a contemporary romance with a hint of fairytale rapture. The Jude Deveraux stamp is on every page. Heartwarming, breathtaking, emotionally fulfilling is all displayed within this beautiful read. Add in strong and endearing characters and you have a masterpiece. There is usually someone trying to break them up and the rest of the cast is secretly wishing they would tell each other how they feel and get it over with. That might sound trite, but the great thing is that there is always a great story surrounding that premise. These are romances and her books are a fantastic way to fill the need for that type of a book. This is another Montgomery/Taggart story, a family that is huge and always entertaining. In this story, Hallie (Hyacinthe) is a physiotherapist who has been walked on by her gorgeous step-sister. When Hally moves to Nantucket to live in a house that was left to her by a relative that she did not even know. She already has a patient ready for her services living in the downstairs of the house. He has bad knee from a skiing accident. She is whisked away on the family jet and is settled in at her new house. Of course, Jamie Taggart sees her and falls in love. As they get to know each other, Hallie is equally smitten but sees Jamie as a jet setting playboy who will love her and leave her once his injury is healed. The Montgomery/Taggart family are on Nantucket for a wedding so there are a lot of beautiful women and men in the story. The other interesting part of the story is the history of the house and the "ghosts" that inhabit it. The ghosts make a few appearances and are instrumental in getting Hallie and Jamie together. A quick summer time read that is sure to make you smile. Thank you Netgalley and Ballantine Books for reintroducing me to an author and family that I have loved in the past. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing. Some scars aren't as visible as others.Hallie Hartley has lived in her step-sister's shadow for most of her life. Saddled with a step-mother only Cinderella could appreciate, Hallie comes home one day to find her step-sister impersonating her and trying to sell her house. Hallie's only option is to go to the house in question and fulfill the responsibilities her sister forged upon her - literally. What she finds is Jamie Taggert, a man recovering from a "ski accident" and much more. As she slowly earns his trust and sees the depths of his injuries, she finds herself drawn more deeply into the comfort of Jamie and his family. At the same time, Jamie discovers Hallie's scars, scars she isn't even aware she has. With the intervention of two maidenly ghosts, Jamie and Hallie find the only way they can both be healed, through the gift of true love. Love this third in the Nantucket Brides Series. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
