The first reason I liked this book was because of the engaging writing. The writing gave fun, interesting, and eye opening facts about cheetahs such as, "Less open space means cheetahs are disappearing. Today fewer than 12,000 cheetahs live in the wild." This fact may not shock young children like it did I, however it provides new knowledge for children that is able to grab their attention. Similarly, the second reason I liked this book was because of the language used. The language was descriptive and clear for the reader, "The cubs' dark coats blend in with the shadows. The long, soft hair along their backs looks like the dry, dead grass. The cubs are protected by camouflage. It's hard for predators to find them." Though this text I am able to visualize the cubs coats and how they blend in with the savannah surroundings. The last reason I liked this book was because of the illustrations. The illustrations in this book were real life photographs taken of the animals in their habitat. The images were able to clearly display what the text was discussing as well as enhancing the facts from the text. Overall, I feel that the 'big idea' of this book was to provide factual evidence about cheetahs. The book was made to teach children about the animals, and their role or importance in the ecosystem. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
