I can't tell if I've outgrown Peter David's writing style or this is just a particularly stilted and awkward arc from him. Hell, maybe in a David comic, a character saying "That's a Doctor Who reference" after the most predictable and obvious Doctor Who reference is a hint the character is evil? But that wasn't the only awkward and weird dialogue in the book, so I'm less inclined to give the benefit of the doubt that it's all intentionally bad. But I guess we'll see. I quite liked this X-Factor story. I read back in the days of Peter David and the new X-Factor team, after Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast, and Archangel all become X-Men again and I really enjoyed that line. I remember that the art was stylish, distorted, but beautiful. I got the same feeling from this book, and I like the direction that it is going. I like the main characters (Polaris, Gambit, and Quicksilver). There is something about Quicksilver particularly that I really like. Perhaps it is his power of super speed; I remember Quicksilver describing what life was like for him (back in the early X-Factor days) and I identified with it somewhat. I picked this up and was so happy to see Peter David writing Quicksilver again that I was almost all "This is great!" but unfortunately it is some thing about they are being employed by a corporate titan for his own maybe-sinister purposes (yawn) and there is lots of prurient weird sex stuff (undignified) and predictable buddy routine type dialogue. Warlock and Cypher's friend-love has its moments, but on the whole you miss the early nineties and Madrox and Strong Guy and Wolfsbane. Oh well, it's cancelled already, nice visiting with you comics. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
