"Carla Matthews is a single mother struggling to make ends meet and give her daughter Kaleigh a decent upbringing. When Kaleigh's absent father Seth--a famous alpine climber who never wanted to be tied down--begs for a second chance at fatherhood, Carla is hesitant because she doesn't want to pin her hopes on a man who is always seeking another mountain to scale. A man who was never willing to stay put in one place and raise a family. But when Seth's plane goes missing after a crash landing in the harsh Canadian wilderness, Carla must wait for news... Is he dead or alive? Will the wreckage ever be found? One year later, after having given up all hope, Carla receives a shocking phone call. A man has been found, half-dead, floating on an iceberg in the North Atlantic, uttering her name. Is this Seth? And is it possible that he will come home to her and Kaleigh at last, and be the man she always dreamed he would be?"-- From back cover. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

It's different from most books, which is what I liked about it, but I feel that it lacked some important opportunities. Aaron and Carla obviously were supposed to have this chemistry and I feel like they barely admitted it. Yes, she's technically supposed to mourn her almost-always-absent husband, Seth. Then she's dating a cop guy after getting word about the plane crash, and then she meets Aaron at the hospital. There's not really a smooth transition in between men. It's almost as if she's running from one straight to another.
The daughter, Kaleigh, sounds like a typical teenager. She wants to be older than she is, so she can hang with the older boys. She has an absent father, but she really needs a dad! In today's world, I can't tell you how many kids can relate to that feeling. But it's really sweet how open and accepting she is of Aaron because not all teenagers are going to accept just any guy in their mother's life. ( )
