Someone had said that Peter Stamm writes in a similar style to Gerbrand Bakker, and that was enough to get me interested. Well, after such a strong recommendation, I had to be, and was disappointed. I don't know. . . maybe his style is similar to Bakker in some ways; it's pretty hard to define writing 'style', isn't it? I didn't really engage fully with this book, although it was certainly good enough to pass the Nancy Pearl test. I found the characters and situations a little interesting, but I didn't feel that I got to know them at sufficient depth to really make any sense of why they responded the way they did , with the possible exception of the main character. I'd maybe consider reading more of Stamm's work if I came across it, but I'm not sure I would seek it out. I won a copy of this book from Goodreads and it really didn't impress me. I didn't understand the motivations of Gillian/Jill or Hubert. They weren't particularly likable characters. I didn't feel like I knew enough about either one. The time jumps in the book were not immediately clear and the ending did not leave you with much closure. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

"All Days are Night is the story of Gillian, a successful and beautiful TV host, content with her marriage to Matthias, even if she feels restless at times. One night following an argument, the couple has a terrible car accident: Matthias, who is drunk, hits a deer on the wet road and dies in the crash. Gillian wakes up in the hospital completely disfigured. Only slowly, after many twists and turns, does she put her life back together, and reconnects with a love interest from the past who becomes a possible future, or so it seems."--from cover, page [2].
