When I first read the title, I thought this book was going to be about the little "devil" on one shoulder and the little "angel" on the other. Although it is not necessarily that, it is pretty similar. Give and Take are two small men that distract the farmer in his apple picking. Both Give and Take do not benefit the farmer, instead they just tired him out and left him empty-handed. Until the farmer combined both Give and Take together and made his life better. This was a fun read because the farmer realized if you add a little bit of Giving and Receiving, life can be better. I also love the illustrations of this book because most of it was black and white but Raschka still added some color to make the pictures pop. Okay, I take what I said in the review of Daisy back; Raschka is able to write a good story with words. "Give and Take" reads much like a table passed on over generations that you'd hear from your grandmother while sitting in front of the fireplace. This is a wonderful explanation that I feel is a common struggle kids may come face to face with: give it take? This book does a wonderful job of explaining the balance between the two in an entertaining and engaging way. The illustrations were absolutely adorable, I loved the style and emotion they brought to the story. I feel this book is a must read for all children to introduce them to one of harbingers struggled they're sure to battle with one day. I didn't like this story; there seemed to be no plot--not a good one anyway. The art is really interesting, which is the only reason I gave it a second star. This book is about a farmer who meets an elf-like man, Take, who convinces him to take, take, take, and at the end of the day, the farmer is not happy. The next day, he meets the elf-like man, Give, who convinces him to give, give, give. The following day, he takes them both and they argue and fight about the farmer's decisions because Take wants the farmer to take and Give wants him to give. This day, the farmer makes his own decisions. Their fighting encourages him to bake an apple pie and then Give and Take make up. I think it's interesting that Chris Raschka has such different art in all of these books and they all tell such different stories with different meanings and lessons behind them. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
In his apple orchard, a farmer meets a little man named Take and follows his advice, which does not turn out well, and the next day meets a little man named Give, whose advice is just as bad. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
