I read all the Wild Seasons series ages ago except this one. I hadn't found Harlow an appealing/interesting character in her small roles in the other books, but here, I do finally get to appreciate who she is. I still don't like her manner, and narrator Shayna Thibodeaux does her absolutely no favours. But I've said before how I just don't like her idiosyncratic style of narration and it is such a shame that so many Christina Lauren books are read by her. Sebastian York - no complaints. What an unusual character Finn is. (But so were Oliver and Ansel) Finn is hard to get to know and I feel that he is a little underdone in this book, compared with the treatment the other two get, especially Ansel. But overall I shouldn't have held off reading this one - it was better than I expected. And perhaps I liked Finn and Harlow's relationship the most. Another really good story in the Wild Seasons series. This one wasn't quite as good as Sweet Filthy Boy, but almost. The characters seemed realistic and the problems they had were definitely tough to deal with, but this one just didn't pull the heartstrings as much as the first one. Once again, I read this book in one sitting. It was definitely gripping and well written. I can't wait for Dark Wild Night in September. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

In all of this author's works I've read, there is always, always some misunderstanding or event at around the 85% mark, that royally pisses off or devastates one of the MC's. Hence the couple breaks up, they moan and lament for ages, one of them caves or comes to their senses, and they live happily ever after. This was no different. I was literally waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop because of course, it had to. If it hadn't happened, I honestly would have liked this so much better because it seems I'm becoming more and more intolerant of unnecessary drama just to check off some boxes in how to write a romance.
Having said that, I've always given props to Christina Lauren for some of the smexiest smex I've ever read, and this did not fail. Actually it was one of their more kinkier and dirtier books. Yep.
This story was all about an attempt to forget real life woes, where Finn and Harlow make a pact - sex with no strings attached. And yes, we all know how that plays out right?? Mmm hmm.
Finn is pure masculine, confident, take charge, alpha male. Once he wraps his mind around the fact that he has found quite the catch in Harlow, he's actually the first to admit to his feelings, and I appreciate a man who's not afraid to express himself.
Currently for the most part I avoid M/F dynamics, because obviously it is the female aspect that I usually have a problem with. Surprisingly and gratefully, Harlow ranks high as one of my favorite CL female characters (Chloe and Hannah rule!). She's feisty, unapologetic, and I thanked the book gods that she was not a whiny, wishy washy, "I hate him so much but need his cock anyway" kind of girl. Because of this, stars were saved as opposed to being taken away like they usually are.
So I will confidently say that many romance enthusiasts will probably find little fault in this. Overall, in my rare dip back into the M/F pool, this was a success - minus that one annoying and predictable small complaint as stated above. ( )
