This is a very good book for beginning readers. I enjoyed the story behind it. One thing I liked about the book was that the language was very easy to follow and beginning readers would no have much trouble figuring out the words when reading it. The print is also large in size, helping the reader see the words well. It was an easy, yet fun read. For example, the text includes sentences such as "Chameleon blushed. Today he was green."
"You are very pretty' , said Frog. Another thing I liked about the book is how the author portrayed the characters. All of the characters are animals, which appeals to children naturally. The story gives the characters life and make them even as animals relatable to children. For example, when Frog is scared the fisherman will come back tgo fish in his pond , Frog was afraid and his friends empathized with him to try ti make him feel better. I'm sure children can relate to a time when they were sad and needed a friend to help them feel better. The main message in this story is to always support your friends no matter what. Be a good friend.. ( )

First Story: Frog and his friends see a rainbow. They go on an adventure to find the end of the rainbow and the pot of gold. Instead of finding gold they found a field full of yellow dandelions.
Second Story: A fisherman goes fishing in frogs pond. Frog tries to get away and ends up exhausted. His friends help him fix the problem by putting up a no fishing sign.

FROG'S LUCKY DAY is a Chapter Book at the beginning 2nd Grade level. It has 32 pages and 952 words divided into two chapters.

Each of two chapters in this book contains a different story. The first story is about finding gold at the end of the rainbow; while the second is about how Frog feels threatened by a fisherman whose baited hook comes a little too close for comfort.

May it's because this is the first book in the FROG AND FRIENDS franchise that I've read, but I didn't particularly like it. The dialog seemed rather pointless. BUT that wouldn't keep me from introducing this series to the right audience. With 8 books in the series there could be a nice reading motivation here.

Here is some sample text from one page:

"There is a pot of gold at the end of a
rainbow," she told them. "But no one has
ever found the place where the rainbow
ends."

"Why not?" Squirrel asked.
"It is hard to find," little Jumping
Mouse said.
Squirrel ran up a tall, tall tree.

"I see the end of it!" he shouted. "the
end is in that field-that-nobody-owns." We
could go there and find the gold."

Cute concept and art.
