( ) Jake Tiptree owns a fixer upper in Eastport, Maine. She lives with her new husband Wade, her son Sam and whatever boarders she happen so have. A cop, who had rescued her as a child recently moved to town and into a house recently abandoned by its presumably dead owner, Harriet, a city busy body who knew everyone's secrets. A music video crew comes to town. Accidents start happening and bodies start turning up here and there. Meanwhile Jake has hired Liam Ash to fix the crumbling foundation of her home. Jake is determined to find out what is going on. I found the book to be a bit "over-written" with too many details which bogged down the action. I enjoyed the characters, as this is the first I've read of this series. The sixth novel in the Home Repair is Homicide mystery series. And my favorite one so far. I wish I could explain (even to myself) why this book seemed so much better. It was also one of the fastest I've gotten through for the series. This one doesn't actually start with Jake or Ellie finding a dead body. Although one of the nosy nellies of Eastport is missing and that worries Jake a little. The novel actually starts with Jake falling off a ladder and getting (according to Victor) a 'mild concussion'. Although the symptoms make it seem like more of a major one. Then Maggie and Sam get into what may or may not have been an accident in Sam's clunker of a car. And that's when Jake's sort of scrambled brain starts going in all directions. Hence the title Unhinged I think. Making connections and guesses about a couple of recent deaths and accidents that happen to those she knows as well as those she doesn't. Some of them seem to be right guesses, others are very out there and don't seem to be right. And then the missing person is found and the mystery goes into overdrive. This novel, like her previous one, has a ton of moving parts, but in this one they all seem to be moving together which made it fun to read because of how stuff I read at the beginning got paid off in the middle and at the end. That indicated a wicked tight plot and a great book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: It began with the mysterious disappearance of Harriet Hollingsworth ?? Eastport, Maine's snoopiest resident. Everyone is convinced the old busybody bolted out of town to escape her creditor ?? everyone except Jake and her best friend, Ellie, who suspect otherwise. But they'll need to come up with proof more sinister than a pair of abandoned binoculars. Just as Jake starts poking around for clues, things take a troubling turn for the worse. A suspicious accident nearly kills her teenaged son, Sam, and her husband, Wade, just misses getting his head blown off. Jake is prepared to attribute these incidents to a spate of bad luck ?? until another ??accident? leaves a visitor to Eastport unmistak No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
