She knew what it was like to grow up in a family that was frugal when they had to be and even frugal when they didn't have to be. Some of the advice for the college money was overwhelming to me, but I think that's because it's creeping up on the family. pg. 171 The FAFSA form needs to be filled out by you and your high school student for updated information on scholarship, grants and other assistance your child may be eligible for. Be careful not to sign up for debt loans. (www.fafsa.ed.gov) pg. 200 "Children deserve to be loved and to know they are loved. They deserve to be cherished and to know they are valuable. Unfortunately our culture has embraced toxic views that undermine that noble end and foolishly prefers to give self-esteem classes to kids who can't read rather than to simply teach them to read." We need to raise kids with gratitude. There's so much discontentment in the world. About a decade ago or so, there was a popular bumper sticker: the one with the most toys wins.
