The Very Tiny Baby does a great job of showing the anxieties and emotions of a child getting a new sibling. It also illustrates what to expect if the new baby is premature. It has illustrations that show things like an incubator, feeding tubes, mommy pumping, etc. In the book, Jacob is unsure if he is happy about the new baby. To make matters worse, the baby is born early causing things around the house to change drastically. Visiting the baby at the hospital and seeing how much everyone loves the baby makes Jacob jealous. He wants to be a baby too. But, with a little help from Mom, Jacob learns his role in all of this and is excited to welcome the new baby home. ( )
