"Make an offering to Nyarlathotep, one of the ancient dark gods of the abyss, to come and challenge Zeus for the throne. I figure if one god is real, why not others? Despite having their secret revealed, the residents of Melbrook Hall return to Lander University for another year in the Hero Certification Program. Good thing the focus of this year is teamwork, because with their origins known they'll have to lean on each other more than ever. Now finally sophomores, their curriculum expands, allowing them to train in the majors that Heroes specialize in. The new classes will test their minds, bodies, and determination in ways never anticipated. In a year filled with the unveiling of secrets, unexpected entanglements, and, of course, super-powered battles, who will be left standing is anyone's guess. Because if all that weren't enough, more light is being shed on last year's kidnapping attempt, and the results point at something far bigger than mere rogue educators. Something that isn't even close to being over with. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Same level of writing and story as the previous book was, but we get more details, more plot development, more character development, more inter-character development....it's just really good! One might even think that there might not be enough story or plot to develop from the first book, but you would be wrong. I'm so enthralled by how creative Drew Hayes is with the creation of this world and his characters. I'm so excited to listen to year three!
My only complaint? The repetition with which the word "however" is used. Let me pause here to say that this is a nit-picky complaint, it's really not that bad. I noticed that "however" was used quite a bit in the first book, but I didn't think it worthy of comment then because it didn't seem that repetitive. There seems to have been an increase in its use in the second installment. However, (see what I did there? *smirk*) maybe as I went into this book I just had my radar tuned to it more because of how I noticed it in the first book and maybe it's not as repetitive as it seemed to me. This is not to say that this overuse of a word makes this book less enjoyable. Not in the least.
Great writing, great characters, great plot! I can't wait to start the next one...
