Set some twenty years in the future from her last novel, The Iceweaver continues the story of Jennet as she struggles on after the death of her mother. The beginning of the novel finds Jennet burying her mother and being attacked by a group of men. Another man, John Frayne, comes to her rescue, only to see Jennet appear on the selling block later. He purchases her indenture, but soon realizes he can never own her.
Full of historical detail and beautiful and lyrical language. Wonderful novel.
