Another great supernatural mystery starring Whyborne & Co. - this time Mummy-style! There’s murder most foul, an undead sorceress, a hidden temple, ghouls, an adorable hat-snatching camel, and a returning horror from Griffin’s past. There was more Christine in this one, and I liked the little glimpse into her past. She finally got her very own love interest, too! I really enjoy the character development in this series, and the way Whyborne’s powers keep growing and acting up in unpredictable ways. Rounded up a little bit to 4 stars. The main character again was a little peevish and willfully ignorant, and slow to acknowledge obvious things. (Even someone unaware of the magical possibilities might have started to question, much less someone who has seen, and can even do themself, incredible things). And the plot points themselves were a little more obvious from a distance than in previous books. And all of that together was a little tedious. But, by the end I was all invested in the struggles and emotionally involved with the characters. So I'm going to give it 4 stars anyway. Pertenece a las seriesContenido en
Introverted scholar Percival Endicott Whyborne has spent the last few months watching his lover, Griffin Flaherty, come to terms with the rejection of his adoptive family. So when an urgent telegram from Christine summons them to Egypt, Whyborne is reluctant to risk the fragile peace they've established. Until, that is, a man who seems as much animal as human tries to murder Whyborne in the museum. Amidst the ancient ruins of the pharaohs, they must join Christine and face betrayal, murder, and a legendary sorceress risen from the dead. In the forge of the desert heat, the trio will either face their fears and stand together-or shatter the bonds between them forever. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

"What's its name?" I asked Iskander. "The camel, I mean."
Iskander shrugged. "It doesn't have one, as far as I know. Call it whatever you want."
"Daisy," I decided, after a quick glance to confirm it a female.
"What an absurd name for a camel," Christine said.
"Daisy and I don't care," I replied loftily. We also ignored the roll of Griffin's eyes. ( )
