Una novela en la que no se ha de esperar el terror ni el horror hasta el final, esta narrada en primera persona por nuestro personaje principal y es fluida, con pocas páginas sobrantes, el maestro King siempre echa algunas páginas de más y con agrado que las leo. Otra muy buena novela más, en la que en este caso crítica o pone en entre dicho desde mi punto de vista la religión. ( )
Algo habitual en la obra de King es cómo mezcla partes de ficción general con terror, y aquí lo vuelve a hacer y funciona muy bien; o mejor dicho, "Revival" comienza siendo una novela de ficción general, con alguna pizca de paranormal, para acabar siendo terror puro y duro. Algo también habitual en su obra son los momentos en los que se va por las ramas, que o bien se pueden reducir bastante o cortar directamente, y aquí también hay de esos. Y algo que también hace de vez en cuando es preparar mucho los momentos, para al final acabar con un clímax descafeinado que no ha sabido cerrar en condiciones. Bueno, pues aquí no hay de eso: el clímax de "Revival" es... electrizante, y vaya que si merece la pena llegar hasta ahí.
The last part of the book moves from the raw emotion about family, love, aging and lost opportunity — all of it written with unusual candor, even for Mr. King — to the horror legacy of those names to whom the book is dedicated.
