Love the mix of adventure, myth and romance. So glad this was another one of those stumbled across books at my local library. Think what I like about the series, other than the dragons, the females are portrayed as strong, intelligent women. Do their mates get a little possessive and over protective, well sure, but instead of being maddening it fall into character and let's the women test their boundaries.
Can't wait to keep going with the series. ( )

Where can I find a dragon king? ( )

Kellan has hated humans for hundreds of years, since they killed his bronze dragons. Denae is an MI5 spy who came to his cave on a mission, only to be betrayed. There story weaves the threads of other series together as the Dark Fae seek to capture them both. Okay read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I missed the Dragon Kings soo much since I read the 3 novellas before this!! Denae was a strong kick-ass woman and Kellan was a wonderfully aloof male (well he wished he could stay that way). He was protective but also showed he had confidence in Denae to handle herself.

I really want to read the next in the series, BUT I feel that I must read the Dark Sword/Warrior series first. I found out that this was a spin off from the warrior series, but didn't think it would matter too much. However during this book, I found too much was being given away and would potentially ruin/Spoil some of the Warriors stories for me. So before I read the next in this book I will go read those!

As an American working for the British M15, the heroine is sent on a mission into the mysterious lands of a powerful but secretive whisky brewing company. Her orders are to take note of anything suspicious. But she's betrayed by her people and must kill her partner when he tries to kill her. Left wounded in the cave, she awakens in the company of the extremely sensual but cold hero. As an immortal dragon, the hero has spent the last few centuries asleep in his cave after his rage drove him to murder a human. He hates the entire species and makes no attempt to hide his disgust from the heroine though he reluctantly admits to himself that he admires the woman's courage and tenancy. She has a horrible habit of saying and doing nothing he expects her to do and he can't help himself from being deeply attracted to her. But she's still human and he holds onto his anger and hatred for her kind for a good chunk of the book. Until they are captured by the fae. Now it's a sever challenge to hide his fear for her safety or his possessive rage when other man touch her. I loved this book and thought the two characters had amazing chemistry. The heroine was a strong woman but she reasonable and flawed and had vulnerabilities which is what I love to read about in a female lead. The hero was so gruff and antisocial, even among his own kind. I loved that even to the end, he was never the emotional sap of a man. He expressed his feelings through actions and when the heroine learn to read him, his love for her could be read clear on his face. He was the total strong silent type and he allowed the heroine to slow chip away at his bitterness and century old animosity but he never lost who he was at the core. Other then-what I felt like-a muddled plot without that much going on in the way of mystery or twists, I really did enjoy this book. Very good start to a new series. ( )
