This book is set up like an art journal about the author's life growing up and going to art school. I love how there are so many examples of her own art when she was a kid because a lot of our students could connect to the story even more. It also provides the opportunity to be a great part of an art unit, where you show students specific pieces in the book and then help them find different ways to create their own art or even just describe the piece. A great read-aloud for 1st or 2nd graders. I was so nostalgic for Chicka Chicka Boom Boom while reading this! I couldn't quite tell who the intended audience was--the big, friendly text suggested younger, while the occasionally abstract concepts and vocabulary called for an older set. Although I'm clearly not the target audience, I enjoyed it nonetheless. Read to support programming at my local public library. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
