A quiet sweet story that probably would have benefited from me having a bit more working knowledge of the game of football. A pretty story from a dual perspective. It always takes me awhile to get into a story that is told in prose or partially in prose but other than that I quite enjoyed it. ( )

I have abandon this for a longest time and return it to the library last year til recently i re-check it out and started reading it again. I'm happy to say that i have finish reading this book, fangirled, at the end and when they kissed too. I am also have got very emotional at times when reading this and this book definitely made me smile, squealed, laugh as well. I love when a good book does that. I love Lauren and Colby. Lauren made the right choice and I'm glad that Colby did what he did. Follow his dreams. I notice it mention bungles and walgreens. That's so cool! I enjoyed this book and finally found another book that became my favorite.

Would recommend this? Yes. ( )

Lauren's chapters are in verse and Colby's in prose. This sweet story focuses on two teens who feel misunderstood and have an instant connection when they meet. Colby is a talented football player who doesn't want to continue playing beyond high school and Lauren's mom has kicked her out of the house and sent her to live with relatives. Through the course of the football season the two develop a deep friendship that helps em each weather the storms in their personal lives.
A quick, touching read. Spending time with the book was a totally enjoyable way to spend a few hours on a summer afternoon. ( )

Sissy: The thing I liked most about The Bridge from Me To You is that it is told from the perspectives of both Lauren and Colby. They alternate chapters and a lot of Lauren's is done in verse, which sounds like it would be annoying but surprisingly, it wasn't. This literary technique elevated what could have been your average angsty teenage romance into something more readable and meaningful.

Bubby: I loved that these characters are so much more than they appear on the surface. They both have hopes, dreams, secrets and a depth that most of their peers can't see from the outside. Lisa Schroeder does a great job of creating characters that I really related to. Read full review at www.bubblebathbooks.net ( )

Looking for a light summer romance read? This could be the book you're looking for. I'll admit the cover and the synopsis make it seem like a tame, cutesy read--but it was better than I expected. I'll give it a 3/5.

Most of Lauren's narrative is written in poetry, using experimental line breaks that express emotion and meaning. It's an interesting quirk of the story. Lauren's poetic chapters expresses psychological and emotional distress through the words she writes in her journal. Don't let the poetry sway you in the wrong direction--it's easy to get used to and it's free verse, so you don't have to work at understanding it. It's not irritating and it doesn't detract from the story.

High school girls will like this book. It's a gentle high school romance story. Colby is the star of the football team, but he's not a typical jock. Many girls will be able to relate to Lauren's crush on Colby as so many of us have had a crush like this in our lifetime. These are relatable characters in a charming small-town.

There's not a lot to this book, but it's a sweet read. It's about recognizing the difference between right and wrong by knowing its important to follow your heart and make yourself happy in life. It's about learning to accept and love the family you have. It's about learning to overcome whatever challenges life throws at you. And it's about the importance of friends, and of following your own dreams. ( )
