MY REVIEW:
So, following from the beginning of my review period, I’ve gone through different emotions with this series: shock, anger, excitement, and finally contentment. I’m not a fan of serials, but when I received this through Netgalley (thank you!), and got engulfed in book one, I couldn’t resist finishing it out.
Ms. Cole has a lot to do with that. Her writing flows, makes sense, and has the ability to completely tug on you until nothing else exists, not housework, not kids, not even work. She’s no different with this series, and I think it’s a fantastic entry into the world of romance outside of her normal paranormal series.
There were a few ups and downs with the series, some of which came into the last book (this one) that made things a little hard to believe, but in the spirit of fiction, I stuck it out. I may be a bit more sensitive to these believability factors, seeing as I’m in law enforcement, but overall, it was a great ride.
I hate to say it, but I wanted to strangle Sevastyan and I wanted Natalie to run far and fast from him. My thoughts on this weren’t in book one or two, but suddenly came up in book 3 and I think that had a lot to do with his lying. Not only verbally, but emotionally as well. I didn’t get the warm and fuzzy at the end that all was well with them, and that’s primarily the reason I knocked off a star for the review. I do think this is a series that readers will enjoy and I whole heartily recommend it for anyone looking for something out of the norm, a little steamy, and with a whole lot of conflict. While the erotic content is a huge part of our industry today, I definitely know without a doubt that readers will be pleasantly surprised with just how different this book series is.
