I am in love with Gena Showalter and all of her works, and she did not prove me wrong in my love of her in this book! While I am very saddened to say this series is over, I am thrilled to say this book was by far the best in the series! My book store accidentally sold this book to me a little early (and by a little, I mean two weeks early, but like I care), so I was able to read it before it was spoiled for me online (like her first two novels in this series). And man, am I blown away! Gena has an amazing talent for keeping you interested and hooked at each chapter, but not leaving you on a horrible cliff hanger waiting for what might happen. I still was unable to put the book down, and found myself wandering back to it when I probably shouldn't have! This book follows Ali, Cole and the gang for one last adventure, and it will not let you down! I truly hope everybody picks up this series! Usually, I find the last book in the series to be incredibly boring, slow, or just rush to the action, but this book was perfectly timed, had a great amount of action, and still included character development that I did not expect. This book by far is my favorite read this year! It rivals with some of my other favorite novels in my top ten! "We're all mad here" is the slogan for this book, and I am mad with anticipation as I wait for the next novel (whether it be adult or young adult) by Gena! Her talent is continuing to grow and I cannot put her books down! This series, I believe should be left perfectly as it is. No more sequels or spin offs. She wrote this series perfectly, and anybody who enjoys a good dystopian young adult novel with a splash of romance, blood, zombies and humour should pick it up! I am on the Gena Showalter fan train and I don't believe I will be getting off anytime soon! Wonderful finale! What can I say about The Queen of Zombie Hearts by Gena Showalter that haven't been said already? Well, in my opinion, it wasn't half as good as Alice in Zombieland, because it felt somewhat rushed. In Alice in Zombieland we have to read between the lines to find the Alice in Wonderland metaphors, which I loved. In The Queen of Zombie Hearts, we don't have that pleasure, because for some reason Gena Showalter spelled every reference out to the reader ... I'll admit that I expected this to happen ever since I finished Through the Zombie Glass, but it still sucked when my premonition became a reality. The chemistry between the characters are, at best, meh. Sure, we get more Ali-Cole sexy time, but the whole book felt rushed. The sexy time felt rushed. The dialogue felt rushed (and somehow weak). Everything just felt rushed and unimportant in the long run. The cheesy ending (you know, the part where the "Queen of Zombie Hearts" thing is revealed) made me physically grimace in disgust. Oh, and don't even get me started on the not-so-surprising-but-still-kind-of-surprising-in-its-own-way death. Where was the emotion, Gena? WHERE?! I know I'm being harsh, but his trilogy could have been so much better. I absolutely loved the first book. The second book really wasn't that bad either, but this third book simply didn't inspire the same love and devotion. Nevertheless, The Queen of Zombie Hearts wasn't that terrible either. I mean, I've read worse, but unless you've started to read the trilogy I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a proper (and unique) zombie trilogy. It's just lacking, gosh darn it! WHY IS IT LACKING?! *le sigh* Review originally posted on: sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
