This is a hard book for me to talk about because I liked so many aspects about it (like the hero and the setup), but some things bothered me. I thought the heroine was tough and competent. She was definitely sympathetic, but some of the decisions she made bordered on TSTL. It didn't ruin the book for me, but it made me change my overall rating. I'm purposely not going into details because I don't want to spoil the read for anyone else. It's a decent vampire story. Certainly worth picking up. It just not a re-read title for me. ( ) ~ 4.5 Hunt the Darkness Stars ~ Hunt the Darkness is book eleven in the Guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy. If you love supernaturals, then you will love this. We are given a verity of sups from vampires, werewolves, imps, gargoyles, witches, and so much more. It’s also full of action, romance, and plot twists and turns. We where introduced to Roke and Sally in [b:Darkness Avenged|15713696|Darkness Avenged (Guardians of Eternity, #10)|Alexandra Ivy|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1354155975s/15713696.jpg|21382084] and Oh Boy, I could not wait to get my hands on their novel. Sally is a witch and vampires hate witches. Roke is a clan chief and a very possessive sexy vampire. He gets lead on a dangerous and entertaining chase. Sally and Roke's chemistry is off the charts, they have an emotional journey to go through and also a very unique and unusually mating. I loved that the mating was so different from what we have been seeing in this series. AIvy also included several of our favorite characters from previous novels in this installment including, Levet or fun loving gargoyle. I loved Hunt the Darkness! I highly recommend this series and book. Each book can be read as a standalone. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment in this series. After a miss spell, the hero and heroine find themselves reluctantly mated. The hero has been searching for the heroine for some time because his instincts don't care whether the mating bond is fake or not, he feels the urge to protect her. Finally he finds her in a cabin and after unearthing a music box, the use it to begin to hunt for her father and a way to break the bond. It doesn't take them very long at all to realize that just maybe the are fated to be mates after all and soon it becomes a search for the Fey and the heroine's people instead of breaking off their bond. This story was soo bland I felt my eyes going cross eyed. I don't understand why the authors Sentinel series can be so good and have this series be so lifeless and boring. I think it's because she's become lazy and just uses the same formula over and over again. Insert action sequence here, and queue the kidnapping scene! And by god if she doesn't stop it with the stupid gargoyle I swear and will never by another book of hers again! The hero is weak and stupid and supposedly dark and brooding yet he quite literally the complete opposite from start to finish. The heroine is stupid and overly stubborn and whiny and is like 3 supernatural creatures rolled into one and sucks at being all of them. I couldn't feel any chemistry between them and it's written like the sparks flying off them will set fire to the rain when is reality it's just a pile of mush. The hero says all the right things I like to read about, possessiveness; manly declarations of passion but nothing connects with the heroine. It was like a cheap knock off of an amazing paranormal romance where the author tries really hard to be one of the best in the genre like Gena Showalter or Kresley Cole but actually turns out to be more like Amanda Ashley. (Sorry Amanda Ashley). I think I'm just more hurt and disappointed then anything. I used to look forward to reading this author and I absolutely love her new Sentinel series but this Guardians of darkness has died a painful death. Unless it receive a radical turn around I recommend that it end a noble death and rest in peace. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

The vampire Roke is raw, sensual, always in control. Yet somehow he's allowed the unthinkable to happen- a nymph-like witch named Sally has used her magic to trick Roke into mating with her. The pair will remain bound for eternity unless Sally breaks the spell. The trouble is, she has no idea how . . . Mating with Roke was an accident; at least that's what Sally keeps telling herself. She's on the hunt for her demon father, whose identity holds the key to releasing the spell. The search won't be easy with Roke shadowing Sally's every move. As they mate with a ferocity that leaves them both aching for more, Sally isn't sure if her world is more dangerous without Roke - or with him . . . 'In book after book, Ivy builds a fascinatingly complex, ever-evolving mythology where dynamic and sometimes stubborn characters collide - with epic results.'
