This book is about a teacher who lets her students bring in their pets for show and tell. The teacher ends up letting the pets stay in her classroom for longer than she was planning and the classroom starts to feel chaotic. I would use this story as a way to introduce rules and procedures for bringing things into the classroom to share with the other classmates. This picture book entails the incredible journey throughout a year in Miss Fry's classroom. As an audience, the author wants the readers to know how much dedication the teacher must have in order to teach their classroom. Each Monday, a child brings in their pet to the classroom, and at the end of every Monday the pet is still there. The teacher shows unconditional love for her classroom by allowing her students to keep their pets there. I would read this book to a group of pre-k students and kindergarten students because they will be able to learn the different sounds of certain animals as well as the names. It's funny how people go back on their word, so much for having the pets there for only one day. It was very nice of the teacher to keep the annoying pets all year long, and she was even able to keep one of them to take home. For a teacher this book would be great to refer to as what they don't want to happen if they were to have a show and tell. Having a class pet is fine, but a zoo in the classroom can get a little out of hand. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
