This book is for fifth grade. In the Civil War Unit, students can look up each battle in this book after having an instruction and get more information and details about the war. They can also create their own mini graphic novel about the Civil War as they learn new components to the war. At the end of the unit they will be able to present their graphic novel to the class. Many students do not understand the base issues in the country that lead to the Civil War, but after reading this book it is clear how each battle was won/lost based on military errors or commands.
