Try - verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case...someone. Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed--after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto--if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try? And he wants to try Tate Morrison. Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate's mind. He's starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago. The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell--a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants. Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind. As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzle between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives. Logan doesn't do relationships. Tate doesn't do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and...tried?… (más)

Less bad than I expected, that's good, right?

At the beginning I preordered these books -[b:Try|17798649|Try (Temptation, #1)|Ella Frank|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1375230186s/17798649.jpg|24898058], [b:Take|17798654|Take (Temptation, #2)|Ella Frank|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1390789525s/17798654.jpg|24898064] & [b:Trust|18002681|Trust (Temptation, #3)|Ella Frank|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1421773024s/18002681.jpg|25264821]- due to their monumental hype; then opinions from my GR friends made me put them almost at the bottom of my TBR List. Finally, I took one as a way to cleanse the palate after [b:Rebel|35491759|Rebel (415 Ink, #1)|Rhys Ford|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1509170366s/35491759.jpg|56892427] and before my current Anyta Sunday marathon.

In spite of that ending that makes me consider this as not a series but a book divided into three parts (for the good of business?), I don't have too much hurry in going to next episode. ( )

Only one thing that I didn't like: they don't know shit about each other. They didn't talked, didn't date, and everything time they fight instead of talking about their problems they go straight to fucking. I thought that this books wouldn't be like that since Tate says in the begging that the reason of his divorce is because they were together only because of the sex, and this is exactly what they're doing, so this can't end well (but we know it will).
I wasn't expecting to be this good, but now I'm thinking how I'm gonna explain to people the cover of the book 2 when it appears on my books of 2021 ( )

EDIT March 19, 2015

1.5 stars

Shelley's review is perfect.

I wanted to give this book 2 stars, but then I saw that according to Goodreads it meant "the book was ok" and I couldn't make myself do it, because nothing about this book was okay.

The writing was convoluted. It was making me tired. A good edit would cut the number of pages in half.

There is no plot. If you don't count Logan talking or thinking about his boner, and various objects giving him one. You could argue the plot was Tate getting to terms with being attracted to a man, and his and Logan's relationship. But mostly it was just sex. I think it makes about 70% of the book.

The characters are not likable. Logan I detested especially. He had in total one scene where he acted like a human being. Other times he was just this sex crazed maniac with rapist tendencies.

Also, there was a lot of talk about vaginas, but that only lasted till about 50%, and compared with the rest of the fuckery in this book, it's hardly worth a mention.

EDIT March 13, 2015

Oh well, since people insist this is a book worth reading (even though I'm pretty sure it's not), as it has won in the Member's Choice Awards again, I suppose I'll be giving it another chance. I'm sure it will be hilarious.

September 25, 2014 ~

The writing is awkward. Considering this won in the M/M Group's Member's choice awards (It got more votes than The Magpie Lord!), and the great ratings, I was not expecting that.

Then I saw it was self-published. Figures.

Also, vagina.

I've read some reviews (good and bad), and decided I will not subjugate myself to this fuckery. ( )
