Ryan Borja met the guy of his dreams in college. Brady Novak was kind, responsible and easy on the eyes. Yeah, the guy had a kid but Ryan loved her too. What could go wrong? Well, Ryan's sister Ellie, that's what. Ellie is a flighty, love-em-and-leave-em kinda girl with a big heart who doesn't realize she dated the guy Ryan had fantasized about. But, like all of Ellie's other relationships, this one ended within two months, just in time to send Brady running off to take a job in Phoenix, taking Ryan's heart with him.Ryan never thought he'd see Brady again until eight years later Ryan's sister blindsides him by announcing that not only is Brady back in Atlanta but she'd asked him out on a date. And he'd accepted. As if that wasn't enough to send Ryan on a tailspin, he finds out the neighborhood girl brings him face to face with Brady.Brady can't believe when he sees Ryan again. He assumed Ryan had moved on from Atlanta, like he'd always said he would. But Brady hasn't forgotten his cute, nerdy friend and wants nothing more than to have a chance to try the relationship they never got to have all those years ago, but convincing Ryan that he hadn't slept with Ellie proves difficult. Ryan is still hurt over the way they left things and makes it an uphill battle, but Brady has waited too long. He'll damn well give a good go of trying to get his man and with the help of his precocious teenage daughter and a little help from friends they may just get their Happily Ever After.… (más)

Ryan Borja missed out on the perfect guy when he was in college. Brady Novak was everything Ryan could want. He was attractive, charming, funny, and caring. Ryan even had a soft spot for Brady's daughter too. But Brady seemed more interested in Ryan's sister, Ellie, so Ryan thought it best to move on. Now, years later, Ellie let Ryan know that Brady has moved in nearby. She ran into him and is looking to see if she can pick up where they left off. What she doesn't know is that Ryan longs for the same chance. If only Brady was looking to do the same...

To me, it is often a mark of good writing when a book goes by quickly but tells a complete story. The flow here is excellent, and I reached the end of the book surprised that it had gone by so quickly but not for a moment feeling like anything was missing. The story is interesting--some interesting family dynamics at play on both sides--and is a nice read for a rainy day or a warm afternoon on the beach. ( )

Rushed and underdeveloped but still kinda cute story.

With this being my third Kade Boehme book in two days, I can definitely say he only gets better. Much better. ( )

Cute, second chance story. Brady was such a great guy, taking care of his daughter on his own since he was a teenager. Lila was funny and I loved her stubbornness and sarcasm. Ryan was a little annoying with his messing around with Brady, then pushing him away and being mean cuz he felt guilty. I hated Ellie. She came around in the end, but I feel like she knew about Brady and Ryan's feelings the entire time but didn't care, and it came across to me like she was trying to rub it in Ryan's face, especially considering she didn't tell Ryan that Brady kept insisting that he and Ellie were just friends, even after she picked up on Brady's feelings at lunch. If she was as close with her brother as they both said, then she could have picked up his unhappiness about her and Brady. She clearly just didn't care and was only worried about herself and her next conquest. ( )
