Dee has always been good at preventing anyone from seeing the real her. She is content being the happy-go-lucky best friend, the strong-willed boss, and the independent woman who doesn't need a man. She's terrified that all it will take is one person to make all her carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. The second that Beck sees Dee, he knows that she will be his. He sees past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. She doesn't want him to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but he makes it his mission to find out. Dee can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop Beck from coming after her. She's it for him, and she knows it. She's just too scared to admit it. Contains mature themes.… (más)

This formula where one MC is too damaged to let anybody in is getting OLD! I actually find a bit of angst interesting but not when it consumes half the book. I was hoping most of the book that Beck would find somebody else because Dee was over the top, ridiculously broken. ( )

What I liked: Dee is a character you have wondered about for 2 books now. While what happens to her friends is tragic, I felt more emotional for Dee's struggle. To be in that much pain and your two best friends never notice?!?! Thats just so sad! So, this book is broken into 3 parts and you get a look at years of Dee and Beck's journey. Its hard to read at times and very emotional. VERY emotional. I don't want to say more and spoil it, but MAJOR PLOT TWIST that I so did not see coming.
If you like... any military romance books (the guys are all former Marines) ( )

Most of this book, I wasn't that crazy about except for any of ML parts. I always love everything that involves him. Toward the end I got more into it. The glitter jar was soooooo touching. ( )

This is an extremely powerful book in so many ways. An in-depth review would only spoil it for the reader. This is a journey the reader needs to go on alone. Fans of this series will be blown away by this book and if you haven’t read this series yet what are you waiting for??

We’ve known Dee since the first book. Or so we thought. We are taken back and shown that Dee has hidden some pretty traumatic things and the two people closest to her have been oblivious. The only person that has seen through her masquerade is Beck.

As we find out about Dee we also find out more about Beck. We are shown that Beck is a very attentive man and lover and even though Dee constantly is pushing him away he is never far and watching over her. When Dee allows it these two are explosive together. As in furniture is always broken while they are having sex..

The journey of these two working through Dee's issues and also dealing with some suspense from her job that jeopardizes Dee's fragile state was an emotional rollercoaster but those are the best reads. ( )

My song for Beck: Bloodstream by Stateless

Favorite Excerpt:
"Do not shower. I want to know that I'm still inside you when you walk down those stairs and sit down at the table. When those assholes are sitting in the same room with you after just seeing what is mine, I want to know that I'm still all over your sweet pussy." HOT DAMN!!

My favorite thing about Harper Sloan's series is that her men are all hot alpha caveman-types who love their women completely. Some girls like to be hauled on to her man's shoulder and be carried to bed! *me, me, me*

Beck is the third book in Sloan's Corp Security series. With each book we get a chance to know and fall in love with all of the guys. We've seen bits and pieces of Beck and Dee's story in the last two book and finally we got to behind all of the heated glances and forlorn expressions.

I love that Beck falls for Dee instantly and hated that Dee held him at arms distance for so long. Yes, she had a lot of issues to deal with as we find out over the course of their story but I wish she would have let him in sooner. Of course this wouldn't be a Corp Security if there wasn't a bad guy and a gun fight! I loved the suspense and never knowing just when the other shoe would drop and...it definitely did...big time.

A terrible day...

I am such a fan of this series and I can't wait to read more about these amazing men and the women lucky enough to capture their hearts!

Why not 5 stars?
I thought a long time about this and I think it's because Dee was so fragile at times that it didn't make any sense to me. It got to be a little too much and it made me not care for her as much. Luckily Beck was there to make it all better for both me and Dee!
