Title: Fatal Tide (East Salem #3) Author: Lis Wiehl with Pete Nelson Pages: 315 Year: 2013 Publisher: Thomas Nelson Fatal Tide continues the action and wild ride of Dani Harris and Tommy Gunderson began in the first two books, Waking Hours and Darkness Rising. I recommend the other two books be read first so the reader will know what is going on. All the main characters return in this installment with Tommy’s bad puns, his aunt Ruth’s many guns and librarian smarts and Dani’s no nonsense logic. One of the students, Reese, from St. Aidan’s has escaped and come to Tommy’s house looking for help. At first, Reese is reluctant to trust those ensconced in Tommy’s house and these members feel the same about Reese. Can they learn to trust each other? Reese wants help finding his identical twin brother and doesn’t trust officials at his school to tell him the truth. What exactly is the mission of The Selected, a group of boys chosen to live apart from the rest of the school population? Reese finds out his brother has been chosen to be part of this group, but Reese has a very bad feeling about this situation. Tommy and Dani’s romance continues to deepen and Tommy is ready for a permanent commitment. Will things ever settle down so he can get Dani alone to ask her this most important question? The prospects of this happening look grim indeed. Two of their small group are killed, Tommy’s house is surrounded while dark by deadly creatures brought from Europe, and they soon learn their time of protection is up on Christmas Eve, which is when the bad guys plan for something big to happen. Quinn is working for the bad guys undercover, so he ferrets out vital information needed to advance the fight of good vs. evil. Cassandra goes undercover as well into the lair of the man in charge of the whole evil operation to see what she can find out. This plot will hold readers hostage as they won’t be able to put the book down until they’re done. There is action, romance, friendships made, family reunited, evil encountered, and faith in God lived out in action and faith discovered by some. The characters for me are like old friends revisited in that we can meet and begin an adventure as if we were never parted. There is a fantastic battle toward the end of the book that is just awesome to read! Don’t miss this book! I highly recommend all three books in this series. Kudos Lis and Pete! My rating is 5 stars. HTML: In East Salem, the elite St. Adrian's Academy is at the nexus of a satanic apocalypseâ??and the fatal tide is rising. When Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights is reunited with the pagans who commissioned it, a dark prophecy begins to unfold in East Salem, beginning with a savage double-murder by hellish creatures straight out of the painting itself. The lone survivor of the attack, a seventeen-year-old Brit, finds sanctuary at Tommy Gunderson's homeâ??and the place is soon surrounded by demons who seem to be biding their time...but for how long? Tommy's pond has been contaminated with Provivilanâ??an insidious drug that could transform New York City's children into an army of violence-addicted murderers. But for an occult cabal in the upper echelons of Linz Pharmaceuticals, contaminating the water supply is just part of an ancient conspiracy against all of humankind. As the clouds gather, Tommy and Dani realize they must infiltrate Linz and St. Adrian's to stop the dissemination of Provivilan. Even then, it could take a tangible eruption of the battle between angels and demons to save humanity from the supernatural evils that have been summoned to East Sa No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

I really liked the time frame for this series. The first book, Waking Hours begins at October, taking advantage of all the creepiness of Halloween. Darkness Rising includes a Thanksgiving celebration in the midst of physical and spiritual attacks. Fatal Tide opens just a few days before Christmas. Christmas Eve is evil’s target date to bring humanity to an end. So if you want a supernatural suspense series to match the season, you should check this one out. The series combines ancient curses, prehistoric beasts and high tech gadgets and expertise to create an interesting blend, and to reinforce that the evil that existed from the beginning of time still exists today. New characters join series favorites in the fast-paced action. And there is no shortage of twists, turns and oh-no moments.
All in all, Fatal Tide was a great conclusion to this series. Frank Peretti fans should definitely check this one out.
